About Phil
Phil has spent over 20 years working with high-income professionals on disability insurance and income protection. He's the one clients actually talk to, and he's built his practice around understanding the specific risks each profession carries and matching them to contract language that holds up when it matters. He knows the carriers, he knows the underwriting, and he doesn't waste anyone's time with generic recommendations.
Phil handles the advisory side of the agency: case design, carrier selection, policy structuring, and the ongoing client relationships that keep coverage aligned as careers evolve. If you're working with Disability Insurance Agency, there's a good chance Phil is the one walking you through your options and explaining why the details in paragraph four of your contract matter more than the premium on page one.
He studied business in college, but the entrepreneurial instinct was already there. He grew up in Wisconsin, moved to California at 10, and has carried that midwestern directness with him ever since. Before settling into insurance, Phil played in a touring band, which is probably where he developed the ability to read a room, adapt on the fly, and stay composed when things don't go according to plan. Skills that translate surprisingly well to navigating carrier underwriting departments.
Outside of work, Phil is a serious music lover. He still plays, still goes to shows, and can talk about it longer than most people can talk about anything. He's also a go-to for client conversations that need patience, persistence, and someone who actually listens before he speaks.
